A blow-dry brush set is the easiest way to get a smooth, bouncy, salon-style blowout at home — without clamping hot tongs onto your hair. If you've just got your set, or you're thinking about it, here's the simple method to follow.
First, how a blow-dry brush set works
Pro Blo's CurlME barrels aren't heated. You blow-dry each section with the brush using your own hairdryer until it's dry, then roll it up onto the barrel and let it cool to set the shape. Because the heat comes from your moving dryer rather than hot metal held against your hair, your strands get far less direct, concentrated heat than they would from straighteners or curling tongs.
What you'll need
- Your blow-dry brush set
- A hairdryer
- Heat protectant
- Sectioning clips
- A comb
The step-by-step method
- Start on clean hair and apply a heat protectant.
- Rough-dry your hair to around 70–80% first — it shouldn't be soaking wet.
- Section your hair — clip the top half up and work from underneath.
- Take a section and blow-dry it with the brush on a medium heat, keeping the dryer moving, until it's 100% dry — especially at the roots.
- Once the section is completely dry, roll it up onto the barrel and unclip the handle, leaving the barrel in place.
- Let the section cool fully on the barrel — the single most important step for hold.
- Gently unwind and move on to the next section.
- Finish with a shake-out at the roots and a little hairspray.
How long does it take?
Your first go might take 20–30 minutes, but most people get it down to 15–20 once they've found their rhythm. Working in neat sections is what speeds you up.
